Three examples of health startups from the UW-Oshkosh Alta Resources Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation will be highlighted during a “First Look” forum within the Thursday, May 12, meeting of the Tech Council’s Wisconsin Innovation Network in northeast Wisconsin.

The luncheon will be held in the D.J. Bordini Center at the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton on North Systems Drive. Registration and networking begin at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for WIN members and students, $20 for general admission and included with WIN corporate memberships.

Nancy Mistele, director of the state Office of Business Development, will kick start the luncheon with a brief presentation describing the services offered by the Office of Business Development along with numerous examples of their success to date helping solve problems for business. The office is part of the state Department of Administration.

Presenting companies include: Jordan Rhodes, founder and chief executive officer, ActiveEDU; Richard Roehrick, chief executive officer, Rebuild; and Jordan Mather, chief executive officer and co-founder, Health Connection.

“We’re looking forward to this spring ‘double-header,’ beginning with an overview of how state government can cut red tape for companies and concluding with three intriguing pitches,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council.
